Via the body, the individual is always intentionally oriented in relation to his or her environment, and this orientation conditions the individual’s ability to perceive him/herself and the situation as meaningful. By virtue of its function as a perceiving organ, the body attributes the external world with meaning that springs from the individual’s perspective on the given situation.
C) In the coaching dialogue, the coach and coachee work together to achieve development and integration in relation to these two overall dimensions. The intention is to enable the coachee to develop a deeper understanding of his or her subjective experiences in specific situations and to facilitate insight into his or her interactions with various actors in a variety of social contexts. The dialogue generates new meaning, which is often presented in new stories about certain experiences, tasks, situations or events.
The subjective theories and general reflections (via naming) that were developed in Stage 3 may be viewed as an invitation and a precondition for establishing hypotheses about future action patterns in similar situations. They can be used spontaneously in new situations or in planning a specific future event. ’ This process of outlining possible solutions or developing concrete hypotheses about ways to handle future situations describes a convergent process of learning and cognition. The subjective theories and generalized considerations from Stage 3 provide an orientation framework for the new action situation.
